School, My Old Foe Is Again Making Much Woe

September 4th, 2003

As you may have discerned from my horribly lacking title, I am back in school. It is not my fault that the title contains a corny rhyme. I blame the school system.

My troubles began early thins morning around one o’clock. I was studiously finishing up my homework, which specifically said it was to be collected on the first day of class. Being a senior in high school, I should have learned by now that this is just a ploy by the teachers to trick the students into thinking they’re nice by delaying the assignment for a few weeks. Other than that the school day went relatively well. My only other problem was English. I have every other class scheduled the way I wanted excluding English.

Here is the dilemma. The English classes are ranked as follows from hardest to easiest:

AP English

Hon English

University English

English Level 1

English Level 2

I have a choice of either AP English or Level 2 English. As you already know, my writing is not anything spectacular, but I don’t have any desire to take Level 2 English, which is comparatively a remedial class. I am unsure as to what I will decide.

In other news, a student(now former student) of my high school committed suicide in the early mourning hours yesterday. He apparently hung himself after an argument with a female companion. I can not understand what would drive a person to such ends, but I am told he was using some sort of drug. I was not closely acquainted with him, but I feel bad for him anyway. I am sure that if he failed at committing suicide, he would regret the decision he made.
